Online Bible Study Update and new website

I have enjoyed studying the Extraordinary Women of the Bible with you this summer. There are 3 weeks left in the John MacArthur book, Twelve Extraordinary Women.

The three remaining weeks include:

Chapter 9 – Martha and Mary – Luke 10

Chapter 10 – Mary Magdalene – Luke 8:2, Luke 8:1-3, John 19:25, Matt. 27:5, Mark 15:40-47, John 20:1-16

Chapter 11 – Lydia – Acts 16

We will be taking some time off on this blog over the next few weeks to set up the new website.  Thank you for your patience.  Please subscribe to stay updated.  We will let you know when the new site is up and running.

In the meantime, my richest In His presence times have been when I allow the Lord to lead me to a passage of Scripture during my quiet time.  This morning, I was led to Hebrews and it was just what I needed.  I’ve found times like this are often more meaningful than following a Bible Reading plan, that can become routine.  Remember, you should long for His presence.  You should look forward to spending time with Him. If it becomes a chore, take a hard look at what you’re doing and ask Him to create in you a heart that longs for Him again. Seasons like this happen to all of us.  Press in and move forward.  But, don’t stop.

Love deeply.  Live fully.  Seek wholly.

Kathy

1 Day Left at Kickstarter

There is 1 day left until the end of the In His Presence Kickstarter Campaign.  The new website was funded!  Praise!  Next, we want to hire my friend, Meghan, to redesign the Men’s Journal.  She is an amazing graphic designer and has already redesigned the women’s journal.  The men’s journal will include weekly prayer sheets, daily Bible reading pages, prayer strategies, etc.  We pray this journal will encourage men to spend time in the Word, which is necessary to lead their families well.

If you’d like to help with this, please click here to donate.  Everyone who donates any amount will be entered into a drawing to win a Scripture print donated to this Campaign by Amen Paper Company.

Notes from my John MacArthur Study Bible…

Jacob had 12 sons.  They became the 12 tribes of Israel.  Long ago, they split.  Ten of the tribes made up their own nation known as the northern kingdom.  They became known as Israel.  Two of the tribes made up the southern kingdom.  They became known as Judah and chose an evil king.  The southern kingdom continued with a king in David’s family line. Jerusalem was located in the southern kingdom.   The temple was there and this was the only place where the priests could offer sacrifices.  There were a few faithful Israelites from the ten tribes that migrated south.  They had to give up their family lands to do so.  That tells us that they were faithful.  Prophets warned the northern kingdom to change their evil ways, but eventually the Assyrians conquered them and took them as slaves.  Only a small number returned later after their captivity.  Anna’s descendants had either migrated south or were among the group who returned after their capture.  Her family was among the northern kingdom and she was a living example of God’s faithfulness to His people.  He does not look at where we come from, but at each individual.  He chose Anna to be a part of His beautiful story-the Bible.
