Homeschooling 101 Series – What Worked for Me: Reading Strategies

Many new homeschoolers seem to be hesitant when it comes to teaching their children to read.  They wonder if they will know how to do it right.

Let me assure you, you can do it!

Keep in mind that children learn differently. For one of my children, a traditional reading curriculum worked just fine.  I used ABeka, if you’re wondering.  For my other child, I needed to think outside the box.

I created Reading is for Everyone for her.  It made all the difference in teaching my once reluctant, now avid reader.  She needed picture clues to made the letter sounds stick.

I’d love for you to have the flashcards I created for her FREE.  There are 43 cards in all.

Download the FREE flashcard set here:

If you like the flashcards and want the complete Reading is for Everyone Curriculum, you can purchase here:

Reading is for Everyone (includes booklets to practice reading the special sounds in words)

Spelling is for Everyone (spelling lists that correspond with the special sounds you are learning.)

Hope this helps!
