Even though he was around all the disciples a lot, Jesus is often alone with just three: Peter, James, and John. We can see that Jesus had a few very close friends that were able to see or hear things the others didn’t. He took these same three when He healed Jairius’s daughter (Mark 5:37) and when He went to the garden to pray before His arrest.(Matthew 26:37). In the verses today, they get to witness the transfiguration.
