I hope you are enjoying your Journal and are off to a great start with your hope-filled year!

I promised I would return here and give you a glimpse into my own journal from time to time, so I wanted to deliver on that.

Here’s a recent entry…

Scripture God led me to read today…

Hebrews 6:19, “We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain.”

Journal Notes…

In the catacombs of the early church, there are 66 pictures of anchors.  Imagine what those founders of the early churches went through.  Plenty.  Sometimes life is hard.  In fact, sometimes life just stinks?  So what do you do with life then?

I visualize a little boat being tossed about by the waves and wind.  But, there, coming off the side of the boat is a chain that plunges into the deep water with an anchor at the bottom.  I visualize myself going over and holding onto that chain than connects to the sure and steadfast anchor.  The anchor isn’t going anywhere, but it makes me feel better, comforted at how strong it is.

When your little boat of life is tossed by the waves, hold fast to THE Anchor.  Rest assured in that Anchor.  Look for those “anchor moments.”

Remember a time when God has spoken very clearly to you – you heard Him.

Remember a time when He has shown His provision.

Remember a time when He has shown His love.

And if you can’t seem to find a time like that in your memory, remember the greatest anchor moment of all – the cross.

What do you do when life stinks?

Remember the Anchor.

Keep reading your Bible.

Keep praying.

Keep seeking.

Keep knocking.

Keep going.

Keep going as a victor, not a victim.

He’s there.  He’s still working.

If you haven’t gotten your journal yet, you can do so here.  Or, simply use a composition book.  That’s what I’ve used for years.  I like to allow the Lord to lead me to the Scripture for the day and direct my time with Him.

By all means, share with the rest of us in the comments section your recent journal entry.  I’d love to be encouraged by what the Lord is saying to you!

Blessings,

Kathy:)

BTW, Tomorrow, I’m reading Psalm 126:)
